Have you ever noticed that people in the book of Genesis are always eating? It begins with the very first commandment, ‘You may surely eat’ (2:16); which is followed by the very first sin, ‘She took of its fruit and ate’ (3:6); and continues through all the various feast of bread and wine and soup and game and everything else. The patriarchs were evidently a hungry bunch.
