Marketplace evangelism - 10 June 2010 |
|
Putney Evangelical Church are holding an evangelism training day on Saturday 11 September, 10 am – 4 pm. If like me you’re living in a part of South-East England that’s well over 90% non-Christian, you might like to glance at the following extract from the blurb (below), then get in touch with Richard Haddow to book a place.
In the parable of the wedding feast, the king’s servants were sent to the streets, lanes, highways and hedges to invite guests. Jesus spoke in the open air and met people where they were. Paul spoke in the marketplace of Athens, as well as the synagogue.
But in modern evangelicalism, do we still feel that ‘public’ evangelism is something for ‘the others’ to do? For the few brave people with a special calling? This event will challenge us all to conquer our fear and get involved.
