And the winners are… - 13 May 2011 |

It’s time to announce the winners of the Calvin competition.
The challenge, as you’ll remember, was to complete following sentence in the most thought-provoking, insightful or downright hilarious way: When I meet John Calvin in glory, I’m going to say, “…”
Douglas Wilson donated as prizes two copies of his latest book, A Study Guide to Calvin’s Institutes, and the two winning entries are:
1. Did you ever mention to Idelette your criteria for what you looked for in a wife? “This is the only beauty that allures me: if she is chaste, if not too fussy or fastidious, if economical, if patient, if there is hope that she will be interested in my health.” If so, how did she take it?
2. Je suis désolé, mais je ne parle pas Français. Ou Latin.
Well done, Kip’ and Gerv. Copies of the book on the way to you both.
