Prayer - 23 June 2011 |
|
My good friend Steve Palframan has responded to this post via Twitter with the suggestion, “Isn’t ‘pray’ the answer to all the questions?”
Yes, of course it is.
Yet at the same time, “Pray” is also the answer to the questions, “How should I make sure my family doesn’t starve?” and “How should I try to get better at New Testament Greek?” and “What should I do when I get lost on the way to my sister-in-law’s wedding?” And once you’ve given the answer “Pray,” you then also say “Work,” “Study,” and “Turn the map the right way round.”
As usual, life is all about primary and secondary causation; Creator/creature distinctions; divine sovereignty and human responsibility; Philippians 2:12-13; etc.
