Well, we’re finally coming to the end of our sermon series on the book of Judges, begun way back in May 2010, so now might be a good time to give a little credit where it’s due.
Last August I made some comments on a number of commentaries on Judges, ranging from ***** (great commentary) to * (great doorstop). Subsequent experience has confirmed the early results: far and away the most thought-provoking and insightful commentaries have been D. I. Block, Judges, Ruth (NIVAC; Broadman) and J. B. Jordan, Judges (Wipf and Stock).
Click on the pictures to buy. But a word of warning: they’ll make hopeless doorstops. You’ll just want to keep picking them up.
